We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Nurse Examiner RN to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner RN, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive medical-forensic examinations to adult and adolescent patients who have experienced interpersonal violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical-forensic examinations to identify and document injuries and other evidence related to interpersonal violence.
- Collect and preserve evidence, including photographs, videos, and other documentation.
- Provide expert testimony in court proceedings as needed.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy agencies to ensure a comprehensive response to victims of interpersonal violence.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members to ensure a patient-centered approach to care.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- 1 year Nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certification of completion of 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) upon hire.
- 16-hour SANE Clinical Skills Lab (CSL training) upon hire.
