Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Technician to join our healthcare team at St. John's Hospital Camarillo. As a Clinical Technician, you will be responsible for providing support to healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment, and assisting in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform crutch fitting based on size and demonstrate competency in this task.
  • Apply arm slings for both adult and pediatric patients and demonstrate successful application.
  • Therapeutically bandage arms and legs with ace bandages and demonstrate competency in this task.
  • Perform, order, and document EKGs and demonstrate competency in this procedure.
  • Conduct phlebotomy according to hospital standards and demonstrate competency in this task.
  • Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKGs via patient care system and perform daily stockroom supply checks to ensure adequate stock for patient care.
  • Partner with nursing, medical, and respiratory staff to assist in patient procedures, such as gastric lavage, stabilizing extremities for suturing, and greeting patients upon arrival.
  • Assist patients into wheelchairs if indicated and assist with traffic control for patients and families entering the main ER doors.
  • Alert housekeeping if the waiting room needs cleaning.
Requirements
  • Current AHA BLS Certification (CT CPRBLS)
  • Current Phlebotomist Certification (CT CPT)
  • Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNA, CT, or EMT
Preferred Requirements
  • Successful completion of Clinical Technician Program or related work experience
Special Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to operate common office equipment, including computers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures
