Pipe Fitter Job Description

Global Power Components is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in our manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Study and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and configuration of piping systems.
  • Select, measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications using various tools and equipment.
  • Assemble and install piping systems according to design specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure the integrity and functionality of the piping system. Identify and rectify any issues or leaks.
  • Work closely with other construction professionals, such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to ensure the integration of piping systems with other building components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing piping systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to determine the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including as-built drawings, material lists, and equipment specifications.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a pipe fitter, with a strong understanding of piping systems and construction practices.
  • Welding is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Knowledge of various pipe materials and their applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Physical strength and stamina for lifting and working in various conditions.
