  • Strong understanding of SQL principles – Assess and adjust intricate SQL queries, embedded SQL within SQLCOBOL, Cursor programming, and SQL Stored Procedures.
  • Database Fundamentals – Develop and evaluate Physical files, Logical Files, SQL tables, Indexes, Views, and Stored procedures.
  • Competent in screen programming – Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
  • ILE Programming – Assess and develop program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
  • Effectively document business rules and create data mapping documents after evaluating program and data flows.
  • Excellent communication abilities and readiness to take full ownership of project tasks based on interactions with business users and Business Analysts.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Triggers and Message Queuing for inter-program and inter-system communication.
  • Understanding of 3-Tier Architecture and IBMi REST/SOAP web services, along with JSON and XML feeds.
  • Knowledge in the Insurance Sector, particularly in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
  • Practical experience with Wheatley Insurance System (WINS).
