Job Overview

JAG Physical Therapy is seeking a highly skilled Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team in Staten Island, NY. As a key member of our athletic training department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive sports medicine services to our clients.

About the Role

This full-time position includes responsibilities such as injury management, creating a safe athletic environment, and collaborating with physicians and physical therapy teams. The role also involves administrative tasks to support the athletic program and is complemented by competitive compensation and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain an effective athletic training program for our organization, including a functional athletic training room with updated policies and procedures manual.
  • Provide AT services for athletic events and competition, ensuring a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
  • Coordinate, manage, and implement medical and risk management of all athletes, inclusive of preventative care, emergency care, and health records maintenance.
  • Act as the workers' compensation case manager for our professional contracted team, submitting insurance information, facilitating referrals, tracking claims, and reporting back within HIPPA/FERPA guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training (CAATE-approved program) and BOC certification.
  • Licensed by the State of New York as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Current BLS certification and Personal Liability Insurance.
