Position Overview:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Casual

Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in delivering diagnostic imaging services within the Nuclear Medicine department. This position is responsible for conducting imaging procedures as per physician directives, ensuring quality and timely service to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols, verifying patient identity using two identifiers.
2. Maintain accurate documentation of all aspects of the imaging process.
3. Provide compassionate patient care, addressing questions and concerns throughout the procedure.
4. Uphold safety standards by managing radioactive materials in compliance with departmental and health regulations.
5. Demonstrate proficiency in operating diagnostic equipment and maintaining technical knowledge.
6. Ensure all imaging data is correctly stored and retrievable in the imaging system.
7. Perform clerical duties using electronic medical records and ensure thorough documentation post-procedure.
8. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to address any operational issues and contribute to a supportive work environment.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Radiologic Technology program.
- Less than 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine technology or a recent graduate from an accredited program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift weights up to 32 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently, adhering to safe patient handling policies.
