Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Specialist to support our students at a nonprofit educational institution.

About Us:

Our organization is committed to providing a nurturing environment for students with diverse needs, particularly those on the Autism spectrum. A significant portion of our students may be nonverbal or partially verbal and utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods. Our focus is on equipping students with essential life skills rather than traditional academic diplomas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators and fellow therapists to create and implement tailored goals for each student.
  • Deliver individual or group therapy sessions, ensuring the effective execution of speech and language objectives.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to student development.
  • Ability to customize therapeutic approaches to meet individual student needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships and enhance learning experiences.
  • Adaptability and a constructive attitude in a dynamic educational setting.

Preferred Credentials:

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology, along with CCC and a valid state license.
  • At least two years of relevant driving experience.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background screening.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
