Position Overview:

The Safety and Security Specialist is dedicated to ensuring a secure environment for all individuals within the facility, including patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers. This role encompasses the enforcement of policies, provision of assistance, emergency response, and safeguarding of property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of both the interior and exterior premises, including parking areas.
  • Understand and uphold the organization's policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls, assess situations, gather pertinent information, resolve conflicts, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Offer guidance and information to patients, visitors, staff, and volunteers throughout the facility.
  • Perform environmental inspections, lighting assessments, alarm tests, and fire drills as required.
  • Engage in specialized tasks such as assisting with patient transport, managing valuables, controlling keys, providing vehicle assistance, and responding to codes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer.
  • One year of experience in law enforcement, corrections, public safety, military police, or security roles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to carry, listen, lift, demonstrate manual dexterity, pull/push, see, sit, speak, squat/kneel, stand, and walk.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
