Job Summary

Trinchero Family Estates is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration production and supporting plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily monitoring of ammonia refrigeration systems, including logging of key system performance parameters and utilizing plant SCADA system to study system operating history.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain key refrigeration system components.
  • Investigate performance deviations on refrigeration equipment, including air handling units, wine storage tanks, wine chillers, compressors, condensers, and pumps.
  • Coordinate with plant engineering and controls team members on refrigeration-related capital and automation projects.
  • Complete all PM Work Orders.
  • Complete commonly required repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor junior staff and perform OJT.
  • Read and understand equipment manuals.
  • Create, review, and modify PM & CM type work orders.
  • Plan and oversee work.
  • Identify and purchase parts.
  • Seek advice when additional expertise or authority is needed.
  • Understand TFE business processes, including work orders, inventory management, purchasing, etc.
  • Understand operation of equipment and systems.
  • Create work instructions for routine tasks.
  • Be proficient in computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
  • Be responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including the SQF Food Safety & Quality Policy.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required, trade school certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience preferred.
  • Proficient in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Problem-solving skills in mechanical and electrical areas.
  • Demonstrate a highly motivated work ethic.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively work as part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and take direction.
  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's license preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical work.
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates' facilities.
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day).
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements, including ear plugs and safety glasses.
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas.
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts, and related production equipment.
  • Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts.
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds.
