Hazmat Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hazmat Technician to join our team at Essel Environmental. As a key member of our disaster response team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our communities and the environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct hazardous waste clean-up and site remediation activities using hand-tools and equipment.
• Operate light and heavy equipment, including pumps, vacuum, oil spill boom, generators, and bobcats.
• Perform emergency response activities, including chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, tank cleaning, and equipment decontamination.
• Work a 12-hour night or day shift schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work on-call projects as well as longer-term projects.
• Experience with pump watch, setting up gabion walls, and sediment removal required.
• Ability to perform labor-intensive activities in any weather or environmental conditions.
• Reliable local transportation.
• Ability to perform duties while adhering to safety priorities while wearing PPE, such as respirators and protective clothing.

Requirements:

• Current 40 Hour Hazwoper Certificate.
• OSHA 30 (Preferred).
• Driver's License (Required).
• Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training (Required).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
