Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Job Description

Aya Locums is seeking a skilled Pediatric Hospitalist Physician to join our team for a temporary assignment. As a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the care of hospitalized patients, from admission to discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Coordinate with specialists to manage complex cases and provide comprehensive care.
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Conduct daily rounds to assess patient progress and update treatment plans.
  • Perform procedures such as intubations and central lines.
  • Communicate with patients and families to explain diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate medical intervention.
  • Collaborate with case managers and social workers to develop safe and effective discharge plans.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in internal medicine or family medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
