  • Assist residents with meal service and feeding, providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance, including bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, as well as assisting with travel to the bathroom and helping with showers and baths.
  • Ambulate, turn, and position residents as needed.
  • Maintain resident stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output information.
  • Provide comfort and support to residents by utilizing resources and materials, answering call lights and requests, and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor.
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Protect resident privacy and dignity by keeping patient information confidential and complying with HIPAA guidelines and related laws.
  • Adhere to professional standards, company policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements, including JCAHO standards when applicable.
  • Stay up-to-date with job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws.
  • Must be at least years of age.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Physical Demands: The physical demands of this job include sitting, standing, bending, and walking regularly, lifting and/or moving up to pounds, and having visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication.
