We are looking for a skilled Environmental Waste Management Specialist to become a part of our dedicated team. Primary Responsibilities:
Waste Management and Disposal:
Efficiently collect, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to all environmental laws and safety protocols. Conduct routine inspections and evaluations of waste storage facilities and equipment.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain precise documentation of waste generation, storage, and disposal processes. Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies.
Emergency Preparedness:
Engage in emergency response initiatives for hazardous material incidents. Assist in formulating and executing emergency response strategies.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain waste management machinery, including pumps, forklifts, and vehicles. Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Training and Mentorship:
Provide training and support to junior personnel on hazardous waste management techniques and safety measures.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hazardous waste management or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, RCRA).
- Valid driver's license and capability to obtain necessary certifications for waste management and transportation.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Physical capability to lift and handle heavy materials and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Certification in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
