About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Performance Optimization Specialist to join our team at KPA. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the performance and scalability of our software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Execute Performance Tests: Create, maintain, and execute performance tests for web and mobile applications to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with developers, quality assurance teams, and product managers to identify performance bottlenecks, ensure optimal performance, and support the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Analyze Results: Analyze results and provide actionable insights to improve system stability and efficiency.
  • Improve Processes: Lead efforts to improve performance testing and tools to catch potential issues early.
  • Expertise: Serve as an expert on software performance metrics and methods, working with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment.

Short-Term Objectives:

  • Onboarding: Successfully complete the onboarding process, including initial training sessions and company orientation.
  • Tool Familiarization: Install necessary tools and review the current performance automation framework.

Mid-Term Objectives:

  • Automated Testing: Automate performance testing for at least one medium-complexity requirement using the Grafana k6 tool.
  • Assessment and Recommendations: Assess the current performance and load testing tool, reporting on its pros and cons, including functionality, ease of use, scalability, and integration.

Long-Term Objectives:

  • Automation Rollout: Work with the QA Manager to plan the performance testing automation rollout for all KPA applications.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and establish performance policies and procedures to ensure application efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • Hands-on Experience: 3+ years of hands-on performance test automation for web and mobile apps
  • Languages and Tools: Experience with Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages and basic knowledge of XML
  • Database Knowledge: SQL DB knowledge and working experience (Postgres, SQL Server, Mongo DB)
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Proficiency with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace or K6, including creating test scripts, executing performance tests, and analyzing results

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary: $90-$110k annually
  • Bonus Potential: Bonus potential of 10% annually
