Role Summary: In the capacity of a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will be instrumental in improving students' educational experiences by addressing their sensory, motor, and developmental challenges. Effective collaboration with educational staff, families, and peers will be vital in developing and implementing tailored interventions that promote students' independence and active participation in school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations to assess students' functional capabilities and needs
  • Develop individualized treatment strategies targeting sensory, motor, and self-care competencies
  • Provide therapeutic services directly to students in both individual and group formats
  • Work alongside educators and families to facilitate students' academic and social development
  • Offer training and support to school personnel and parents to enhance students' independence and engagement in educational settings
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid California Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure
  • Experience in a school environment is preferred; however, new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
