We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Federal Signal. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing expert repair and maintenance services for our customers' equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with our equipment
- Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any outstanding issues
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers and dealers
- Lead diagnostic efforts at dealer locations as needed
- Educate customers and dealers on new equipment startups
- Identify potential issues with existing equipment and document recommended changes
- Participate in on-call technical support and provide after-hours assistance as needed
- Review and provide input on technical data, parts bulletins, and training materials
- Maintain accurate records in our customer relations management system
- Associates degree in automotive repair or a related field (bachelor's degree preferred)
- ASE Master Truck Technician certification (or equivalent)
- CDL License required
- 5 years' experience in vehicle/equipment service and repair with a combination of mechanical, electrical, controls, and hydraulics
- At least 3 years' diagnosis and repair experience in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hydrostatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
- Proficiency in MS Office products and video photography
