Job Overview:
The Lumberyard Associate will support customers in the lumberyard, operate forklifts, manage inventory, and provide overall assistance in the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting products in the lumberyard.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move materials.
  • Organize and stock merchandise while rearranging building supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lumberyard and storage areas.
  • Confirm that customer or vendor tickets correspond with the items.
  • Protect exposed materials as necessary.
  • Participate in store meetings and training programs.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Understanding of weight distribution and loading techniques.
  • Quick adjustment of machinery or vehicle controls.
  • Successful completion of company training and certification processes.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification required.
  • Completion of on-the-job training is necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of standing and mobility.
  • Capability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks over extended durations.
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions.
