Responsibilities:
- Deliver fundamental, knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical competencies.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on age-specific components.
- Coordinate care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments and Veteran goals of care.
- Ability to recognize urgent/emergent care situations and perform appropriate interventions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN Nurse (Preferred)
- National Nursing Certification in related field.
- Knowledge of Surgery Process (Preferred)
- Podiatry Surgical Experience (Preferred)
- Outpatient Surgical Specialty Experience
- Lean Six Sigma Belt (example: white, yellow, green)
- Care Coordinator Experience
- Performance Improvement Projects
- Charge Nurse Experience
Working Conditions:
The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders.
Education:
