Key duties include engaging with customers, managing the lifting and transporting of donated and purchased goods, organizing clothing items, setting prices, and preparing merchandise for display on the sales floor. Additionally, the position involves operating a cash register, handling transactions, and ensuring accurate cash drawer reconciliation at the end of the day. The role primarily consists of physical labor, requiring basic communication and mathematical skills for effective customer service.

This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 25 hours of work per week, with a starting pay rate of $13.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster positive interactions with customers and fellow staff members.
  • Sort and categorize donated items.
  • Assign prices to donated goods.
  • Display items on racks and shelves for customer access.
  • Assist with loading and unloading tasks related to store operations.
  • Conduct cashier duties, including processing sales and providing change.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the store, including tasks such as window washing, dusting, cleaning restrooms, and sweeping/mopping floors. All employees share the responsibility of keeping the showroom tidy during operational hours.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with one year of relevant work experience, or two years of experience without a diploma. Candidates should be able to understand written instructions and safety guidelines. Proficiency in operating a cash register and accurately handling cash transactions is required. Effective communication with customers and coworkers is essential. Ideal candidates will be team-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
