Job Title: Triage Medical Assistant

Overview:

  • As a key member of our healthcare team, the Triage Medical Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between patients, families, care providers, and other healthcare institutions within our location.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize EMR system to monitor, track, document, and manage all communication.

  • Report all non-urgent pathology results for specific locations.

  • Monitor and track pathology orders, receipt of results, and coordinate with labs to obtain outstanding results.

  • Answer patient calls, emails, and questions, and/or refer to the right professional.

  • Enter patient demographics and schedule patients into practice management system.

  • Scan documents into patient charts and send documents out to referring professionals when needed.

  • Assist with management of prior authorizations, prescription refills, returning patient calls, and complete tasks in EHR.

  • Assist clinical teams with tasks such as prepping rooms, re-stocking, rooming patients, scribing, and acting as resource nurse among other duties, as needed.

  • Discuss with patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, and continuing care.

  • Provide community resources and referrals for continuing care.

  • Confidentially manage patient accounts.

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards & regulatory requirements.

  • Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

  • EMR experience preferred

  • Dermatology experience preferred

  • Experience with patient charting (i.e., scribing patient history, doctor's diagnosis description and treatment plans, including prescriptions and patient instructions into patient chart, in detail)

  • 2 plus years' experience working in a medical office

  • Focus on exceptional customer service

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and well organized

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Knowledgeable of OSHA and HIPAA compliance

  • Knowledge of medical/dermatology terminology and abbreviations preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide an excellent benefit package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, employer HSA contribution, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Physical Demands:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer and phone. The individual must also be able to walk, stand, move, and manipulate equipment, as well as lift and move objects, equipment, and supplies as needed.
