Aircraft Mechanic II Job Summary:

Aircraft Mechanic II performs critical tasks in inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and monitoring aircraft systems, structures, and components. This role requires technical guidance from team leads and/or supervisors, which may be more senior technicians. The Aircraft Mechanic II uses hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment to perform assigned tasks. They read and interpret service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems and/or ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose aircraft systems, structures, and components to identify issues and recommend repairs.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on aircraft systems, structures, and components, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and ancillary equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical data, including service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, and technical data.
  • Collaborate with team leads and/or supervisors to receive technical guidance and support.
  • Clean aircraft parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience with aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts for the assigned position.
  • Requires Two (2) years of NAVAIR/NAWCAD maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records, and specific experience with the aircraft type to be supported.
  • Experience with leading maintenance teams, prioritizing workload and schedules on assigned projects.
  • Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance Required. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Top Secret Security Clearance.

Security Clearance:

  • Position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance and maintain a favorable Tier 5 background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N experience preferred.
