Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

• Collaborate with surgeons and registered nurses to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• Ensure that the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly.
• Assist with various types of surgical operations, providing technically skilled duties and serving as a first assist.
• Demonstrate knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique.
• Collect, organize, and enter information into the patient scheduling application.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology program.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Current Surgical Tech Certification preferred, or if employed prior to July 1, 2021, registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine required.

The job requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
