Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a PCU - Progressive Care Unit Assistant. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the nursing team in our Progressive Care Unit.
Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care activities, including admissions, discharges, and transfers, utilizing electronic patient tracking systems and medical records.
- Assist with clerical duties, such as managing documents, handling communications, and answering patient call lights.
- Provide routine patient care, including activities of daily living, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Coordinate daily patient care activities, assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, and respond to patient call lights.
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, stocking, and replenishing unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
- Communicate patient information, concerns, or issues to interdisciplinary team members and facilitate unit communication.
- Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist patients, visitors, and employees, and ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Document care provided using worksheets and/or electronic medical records and maintain unit-specific records and reports.
- Monitor patient heart rates and rhythms, recognize irregular patterns, and report to appropriate staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification preferred but not required.
- CPR certification required; rhythm interpretation courses as required by unit and Continuing Education Department.
- Working knowledge of computers and software programs required; excellent organizational and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and rhythm interpretation preferred; excellent interpersonal skills required.
