Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Virginia Veterans Care Center. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver medications, supplies, and devices to nursing units, while maintaining accurate records and inventory.
  • Fulfill medication orders and reorders for residents, and replenish medication supplies as needed.
  • Process charges and credits for medications, supplies, and devices, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Restock, organize, and inventory medications and supplies throughout the facility, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
  • Enter medication orders and resident information into the computer database, and maintain accurate records of medication profiles and resident information.
  • Prepare and package medications, and maintain logs for repackaging and inventory management.
  • Place orders with wholesalers and manufacturers, and process received items to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Return recalled, expired, or overstocked medications to wholesalers or manufacturers, and maintain accurate records of returned items.
  • Assist with departmental mail and correspondence, and perform other duties as assigned to support the Pharmacy department's mission.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Virginia Pharmacy Technician registration is required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is a plus.
  • Long-term care experience is a plus.
