We are in search of a seasoned Materials Procurement and Planning Manager to become a vital part of our organization.
The successful candidate will be tasked with managing raw material MRP (Material Requirements Planning) control, leveraging SAP software for effective inventory oversight, maintaining precise master data, and ensuring prompt fulfillment of supply needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Formulate and implement strategic initiatives for raw material sourcing and inventory management to align with production requirements while minimizing costs.
2. Employ SAP or comparable ERP systems to efficiently oversee material planning, procurement, and inventory management processes.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, logistics, and finance, to synchronize material planning efforts with broader business goals.
4. Evaluate MRP reports and forecasts to detect potential material shortages or surpluses, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks and optimize inventory levels.
5. Ensure the accuracy of master data, including bills of materials (BOM), material master records, and supplier details to facilitate effective production planning and procurement.
6. Lead and mentor a team of material planners/buyers, offering guidance and support to foster high performance and continuous enhancement.
7. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, managing forecasting and order placement, negotiating delivery timelines, and monitoring supplier performance to guarantee timely delivery of quality materials.
8. Propel process enhancements and adopt best practices in material planning and inventory management to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate overall supply chain performance.
9. Conduct shortage meetings, manage escalation processes, and oversee supplier performance evaluations promptly.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing context.
• Extensive experience with SAP or other ERP systems for material planning and inventory oversight.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the proficiency to interpret data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop a team of material planners/buyers.
• Strong negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and best practices in material planning and inventory management.
