Job Summary

The Early Head Start Teacher is a key member of our team at Hill Country Community Action Association, responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for infants. As a dedicated educator, you will be responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate practices, promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and fostering a sense of community among children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration.
  • Child Development: Observe, record, and report on children's progress, identifying areas of strength and need, and developing individualized plans to support their growth.
  • Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, providing support and resources to help them navigate the early childhood education system.
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement daily plans that reflect the needs and interests of the children, incorporating mandated elements, parental and cultural influences, and promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve program goals, share knowledge and expertise, and provide support and guidance as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's, Bachelor's, or advanced degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' employment in a licensed child-care facility.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, as well as a thorough understanding of developmentally appropriate practice.
Working Conditions

This position requires occasional work outside of regular hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as some travel to meetings and training sessions.
