MRI Supervisor Job Description

The MRI Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring that all imaging services are provided in a safe and efficient manner. This includes supervising licensed technologists, monitoring staff utilization and productivity, and reviewing test results to ensure adherence to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology, with experience in supervising staff and managing departmental operations. They will be responsible for recommending improvements to departmental procedures and policies, training radiology technologists on new techniques and systems, and mentoring staff in meeting professional goals.

The MRI Supervisor will also be responsible for communicating regularly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality diagnostic services, collaborating with radiology leaders on developing strategies for performance improvement, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise licensed technologists and monitor staff utilization and productivity
  • Review test results to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Recommend improvements to departmental procedures and policies
  • Train radiology technologists on new techniques and systems
  • Mentor staff in meeting professional goals
  • Communicate regularly with multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with radiology leaders on developing strategies for performance improvement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • 9 years of related experience, education/training, or a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related area plus 5 years of relevant MRI experience/training
  • Registered Technologist for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) issued by ARRT or ARMRIT
  • Experience with subject matter knowledge of a radiology modality, with ability to apply principles to an acute care setting to ensure operations meet regulatory standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO)
  • 1-3 years lead role or supervisory experience
  • Venipuncture certification

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Pay Transparency Act:

Annual Full Pay Range: $104,900 - $198,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $50.24 - $95.26
