The CT Technologist plays a vital role in the imaging department, responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment. This position requires strong patient communication and care skills, with an emphasis on patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' internal structures.
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety during the scan.
  • Administer IV contrast agents as per protocol, monitor patient reactions, and take necessary actions in case of adverse effects.
  • Verify the quality of CT images, ensuring all necessary views are captured, and transfer images to the PACS for interpretation by the radiologist.
  • Maintain CT equipment, performing regular checks and preventive maintenance, and report any malfunctions or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure radiation protection protocols are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self, maintaining compliance with safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any relevant details in the patient's medical record.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
  • Valid state license for Radiologic Technology (if required by state).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a CT Tech is preferred.
Work Environment

The CT Technologist works in a hospital or imaging center environment, requiring standing for long periods, moving patients, and handling medical equipment. Potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens is possible.
