The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering quality care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting. As a member of the VitalCore Health Strategies team, the LPN will be responsible for providing nursing care within the scope of practice, as outlined by the local state nurse practice act.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver quality care to patients, consistent with the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff.
- Administer medications and provide wound care, as directed by the HSA, DON, or Registered Nurse.
- Assist in the development and implementation of teaching plans, based on individual patient needs.
- Document actions and medical records, as required.
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
- Possesses an active CPR certification.
- Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies, as assigned by role.
