Job Title:

Clinical Pharmacist - Acute Care Surgical Services

Job Summary:

The University of Washington is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Acute Care Surgical Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide pharmacotherapeutic recommendations to optimize patient care and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for acute care surgical services.
  • Initiate and maintain lines of communication between nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and other care providers on behalf of surgical patients.
  • Assist in the development and carrying out of quality assurance programs for surgical pharmacy services, including ensuring organizational compliance with national practice standards.
  • Participate as an active member of the acute care surgical teams to assist in achievement of specific therapeutic outcomes by continuous monitoring of drug therapy.
  • Participate in medication order review, clarification, validation, and order verification.
  • Monitor the nutritional needs of surgical patients; review and write TPN orders.
Requirements:
  • State of Washington Pharmacist License.
  • One year of experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
