The Peer Recovery Specialist II is responsible for providing non-clinical support to patients at Riverside Health System, focusing on recovery, wellness, and independence. This role requires a strong understanding of recovery principles and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Engage in face-to-face interactions with patients to promote their recovery goals.
  • Collaborate with patients to write and communicate their personal recovery-wellness plans.
  • Recognize and augment patients' personal strengths in skill areas related to daily life challenges.
  • Share effective strategies for developing coping skills and wellness tools related to trauma, substance use disorders, or mental health challenges.
  • Enhance patients' self-advocacy skills, promoting independent behavior based on informed choice.
  • Assist patients in creating crisis recovery response plans.
Key Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of recovery experience (required).
  • CPR/BLS Certification within 30 days (required).
  • First Aid Certification within 30 days (required).
