Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Shop Manager, vendors, and maintenance teams to address ongoing equipment and facility challenges.
  • Supervise both routine and urgent repairs performed by UAW mechanics.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of preventative maintenance and repair activities within the shop.
  • Generate detailed reports concerning maintenance, repairs, safety, and related equipment issues.
  • Develop and implement equipment repair strategies tailored to varying weather conditions and operational changes.
  • Work alongside upper management to strategize budgeting for maintenance and equipment repairs.
  • Oversee all equipment installations, campaigns, and refurbishments.
  • Maintain production standards for the skilled trades workforce.
  • Manage the UAW skilled trades labor force effectively.
  • Coordinate parts flow to mechanics to ensure efficiency.
  • Collaborate with service managers to guarantee availability of parts for repair tasks.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills to prioritize and coordinate team efforts.

Qualifications:
  • This position requires 100% onsite presence.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an automotive or heavy equipment repair setting is essential.
  • Experience with equipment installations and refurbishments is required.
  • Prior experience working with unionized employees is necessary.
  • Ability to collaborate with experts from various disciplines to create and implement benchmark processes.
