About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated RN specialized in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring that patients transition safely from an anesthetized state to full responsiveness.
The PACU is designed to cater to patients recovering from various surgical procedures requiring anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
As a PACU RN, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients prior to surgical procedures.
- Verifying that all necessary consents are properly signed and documented.
- Monitoring PACU patients closely, including vital signs and other critical post-operative indicators.
- Initiating intravenous lines and ensuring patients are well-informed about their recovery process.
- Reviewing patient medical histories to identify significant health information.
- Carrying out post-operative duties such as dressing changes and medication administration.
- Addressing patient inquiries and ensuring their comfort throughout recovery.
- Observing patients for any changes in condition and promptly reporting these to the attending physician.
- Executing intervention protocols in the event of post-operative emergencies.
- Providing patients and their families with essential information regarding home recovery, including dietary and activity restrictions.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a clinical environment.
