Join Our Mission
Mental Health Partnerships is seeking a dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide care for individuals in an outpatient community setting who are facing mental health challenges. The Psychiatric Nurse plays a crucial role in managing the healthcare needs of clients with mental health conditions.
Position Overview
This role involves working collaboratively with a treatment team to ensure comprehensive care for participants. The Psychiatric Nurse will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and managing participants' medication regimens, ensuring timely communication with prescribing physicians.
- Administering medications and injections as required, while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Conducting health assessments and regular screenings to evaluate participant well-being.
- Participating in crisis intervention efforts and providing support to the treatment team.
- Engaging with community resources to address healthcare needs and deliver psychiatric nursing services.
- Educating participants and their support networks about medication management and health practices.
- Facilitating health education workshops on various topics, including chronic illness management and wellness.
- Documenting participant progress in electronic health records in real-time during service delivery.
- Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission of Mental Health Partnerships.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of nursing experience, particularly in psychiatric care.
- Thorough understanding of psychiatric clinical practices and psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Experience in community mental health settings is advantageous.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel within the community and engage with participants in various settings.
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs and navigate different environments.
- Frequent communication with participants, requiring clear verbal and listening skills.
