As a CT Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality diagnostic images for patients. Under direct supervision, you will operate CT scanners and other radiographic equipment to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic procedures, utilizing knowledge and skills to produce high-quality images.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- File work, reception, and computer functions, including PACs.
- Administer contrast media as directed, adhering to policies and procedures.
- Protocol exams according to established departmental directives.
- Assist with screening patients for contraindications.
- Participate in quality assurance functions and troubleshoot equipment.
- Restock supplies, maintain cleanliness of assigned rooms, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum one year of experience as a CT technologist within the past two years or six months of experience in an acute hospital setting within the last year.
- Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) required at hire.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Computed Tomography required at hire.
- Basic Life Support within one month of hire.
- Prior CT work experience using helical and/or multi-detector technology.
- Attendance at CT and cross-sectional anatomy courses.
- Associates degree or higher in Radiologic Science or related field.
