Job Title: Shop Technician/Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Shop Technician/Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Stotz Equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the effective diagnosis and repair of engine components, including small engines, agricultural equipment, and other equipment sold in the market area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment.
  • Work must be completed at high levels of quality and safety.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot using diagnostic tools, and make repairs.
  • May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
Requirements:
  • Must own and maintain their own tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Able to assemble and perform maintenance functions.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Able to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour calls.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience as a mechanic working on small engines, diesel, and gas engines, and small hand-held components.
  • Experience with John Deere equipment.

Hearing ability is sufficient to communicate with others in person or over the phone.

Light to moderate lifting may be required (up to 25 pounds).

Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed.
