About the RoleThe Pharmacy Intern will provide safe and effective medication therapy for optimal patient outcomes, ensuring completion of all necessary documentation under the supervision and guidance of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities- Advise patients on medications, medication therapy, and pharmacokinetic recommendations.
- Review physician orders for safe and optimal medication therapy, indications, allergies, dosing, interactions, duplications, cost-effectiveness, and formulary compliance.
- Initial and ensure the accuracy of all work within the expected turnaround time.
- Ensure all healthcare areas have only properly dispensed and stored medications.
- Prepare and dispense pharmaceutical products, ensuring accurate preparation, labeling, documentation, and distribution.
- Complete assigned projects as directed and approved by Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacy Supervisor, or Director.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
- Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written).
