At-Risk Mentor Job Description

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate At-Risk Mentor to join our team. As an At-Risk Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who are struggling with attendance, performance, and discipline challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement holistic support plans for students, working closely with teachers, clinical professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and community members to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
  • Monitor and analyze student data to inform intervention strategies and measure progress.
  • Connect students with relevant resources and services to address their unique needs.
  • Lead case management and re-entry processes for students returning from suspension or other absences.
  • Participate in the Clinical Care team to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Collaborate with security guards and other advocates to review student circumstances and develop impactful interventions.
  • Utilize data systems to track student progress and drive additional intervention recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Bilingual - Spanish speaking.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with young people and family members.
  • Prior experience taking initiative in complex environments and systems.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with students, parents, and teachers.
  • Ability to maintain multiple, deep relationships with students and adults at one time.
  • Experience and comfort having critical conversations with students to move them toward realistic goals and next steps.
  • Highly detail-oriented and data-driven work style.
  • Flexibility with working evening hours.
