This position is essential in mentoring and supervising other nursing staff, including RNs, LVNs, and MAs, ensuring optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment:
1. Continuously evaluates the needs of staff and services.
2. Identifies potential challenges impacting clinic operations.
3. Assesses staffing requirements based on patient volume and acuity, along with staff competencies.
4. Ensures accurate documentation related to patient acuity and staffing. - Planning:
1. Communicates staffing plans effectively to providers and services. - Intervention:
1. Utilizes professional communication to delegate tasks and direct assignments.
2. Supports operational needs by maintaining an active RN assignment.
3. Facilitates prompt responses to service needs from staff.
4. Requires medical evaluations for ill or injured staff. - Evaluation:
1. Reviews and adjusts staffing plans to ensure patient safety and timely care delivery.
2. Conducts performance appraisals and implements disciplinary actions as necessary. - Leadership:
1. Acts as a clinical resource and support for the team.
2. Stays informed about clinical and organizational updates.
3. Models effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
4. Engages in continuous professional development and encourages staff participation in improvement initiatives. - Direct Patient Care Responsibilities:
1. Adheres to policies and procedures while applying nursing knowledge in practice.
2. Administers medications and therapies as prescribed.
3. Ensures thorough documentation in health records.
4. Provides patient and family education as required.
Qualifications:
- Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience.
3. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
4. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
5. Outstanding communication skills. - Preferred:
1. Previous supervisory experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
3. Fire Life Safety Training certification (if applicable).
