Defensive Warfare Specialist

The Army National Guard offers a challenging and rewarding career as an Infantryman, responsible for taking or holding ground during combat operations. With advanced weapons and tactics, you'll be part of the backbone of the Army, carrying out reconnaissance, employing mines, operating weapon systems, and maintaining communications equipment.

As a member of a fire team, you'll process prisoners of war, captured documents, and aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry. You'll use, maintain, and store combat weapons, working as a team to accomplish any task.

Job training for an Infantryman requires 14 weeks of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), with part of this time spent in a classroom and part under simulated combat conditions.

Requirements

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
