Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide treatment for patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges.
- Assess patients' capabilities to perform daily living activities independently and safely.
- Develop individualized care plans outlining treatment types and frequencies.
- Execute treatment plans utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes meticulously.
- Adjust care plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about identified deficits and recovery strategies.
- Assist in planning and facilitating patient discharge from therapy services, including guidance on adaptive equipment and support programs.
Supervision:
Oversee the activities of certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with established regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider certification required within one month of hire or transfer. Accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Therapist (OTR) credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required prior to hire or transfer. A valid license pending letter is acceptable until the license is issued.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree preferred, with a strong emphasis on Occupational Therapy.
