State Farm is seeking a highly skilled attorney to join our Corporate Counseling & Transactions Unit (CC&T) in Bloomington, IL. As a Counsel for Technology Transactions, you will advise on a variety of technology matters, including vendor contracts, data security, and IP ownership/licensing. Your primary focus will be to counsel our Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas on allocating business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships. You will also serve in a drafting and negotiation role, advising on the negotiation of technology agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, and outsourcing agreements. This is a hybrid role, requiring hours in the office and virtually. You must be able to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed. We are looking for an attorney with 3-6 years of transactional experience, preferably with experience or acumen in the technology area. You must have a proactive mindset, the ability to anticipate and respond effectively to clients' needs, and actively assist clients by practicing preventative law. **Responsibilities:**
  • Advise on legal issues related to transactions for technology services
  • Counsel our Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas on allocating business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships
  • Draft and negotiate technology agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, and outsourcing agreements
**Qualifications:**
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar
  • Must be able to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed
  • Attorney with 3-6 years of transactional experience, preferably with experience or acumen in the technology area
