We are seeking a skilled and charismatic Restaurant Captain to join our team at PLANTA Restaurants. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and embody the PLANTA spirit of excellence and customer service
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including table settings, chairs, and floors
  • Coordinate food service between the kitchen and dining staff to ensure seamless execution
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of our guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring their satisfaction
  • Be knowledgeable about our menu and make recommendations to guests
  • Ensure accuracy when entering orders into the POS system and maintain communication with the Leadership Team
  • Inspect and detail the dining room, including table settings, chairs, and floors, to ensure high standards are met
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Be aware of any special requests, including guest allergies, and take necessary precautions
  • Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and effectively
  • Make sure the server station is stocked and ready for service
  • Perform assigned side work and work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the management team
  • Responsible for cash handling and accurate reporting
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a high-volume, casual fine-dining establishment
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage items
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight schedules
  • Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional guest service
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs
  • Proficient in computer skills, including POS systems
  • Professional appearance appropriate for a premier restaurant
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-oriented and impeccably organized
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, WSET, Prud'homme, or equivalent considered an asset
