Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Operate MRI scanners, administer contrast agents, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret protocols and select appropriate scanning parameters to produce high-quality images.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast agents, establish intravenous lines, and follow proper injection procedures.
  • Transfer images to PACS, verify and segment images, and complete orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including precepting new employees and students.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
  • Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends. The salary range is $40.09 per hour (hiring range). UNC Health Care is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
