At Sentry, we're on a mission to empower developers to create better software faster. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Alerts team, you'll play a critical role in building high-performance monitoring tools that help companies like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian.

We're looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for designing and implementing large-scale systems. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Product Managers and Designers to iterate on our Alerts product, scaling critical services, and mentoring the team to achieve higher standards of operational excellence.

Salary: $200,000 - $220,000 per year

Job DescriptionAbout the Role

The Alerts platform is a key functionality for Sentry's various application monitoring products. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience working with large-scale systems to join our team.

  • Design and implement high-impact projects that touch the entire stack, from event ingestion pipelines to search and storage systems
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to iterate on our Alerts product
  • Scale critical Tier 0 services to ensure they remain performant and resilient as throughput grows
  • Create engineering initiatives to empower the team to continually achieve higher standards of operational excellence

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering large-scale high-throughput systems
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, and/or relevant experience
  • Strong experience with Django/Python or similar frameworks and languages
  • Working experience with React/Typescript or similar frameworks and languages
  • Bonus points for experience with querying time-series data at scale
