Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our trial team in our Walnut Creek, California office. As a key member of our Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice group, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of civil cases and develop your skills as a trial lawyer.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert legal counsel and representation in court and negotiations.
  • Conduct thorough research, prepare legal documents, and develop strategies to favorably resolve cases.
  • Communicate complex legal information to clients, identifying potential outcomes and risks.
  • Build trust with clients through responsive and personalized service.
  • Develop and present compelling arguments in civil and criminal proceedings.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including contracts, dispositions, and pleadings, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and case law, particularly in areas of specialization.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, maintaining the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Effectively negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the Firm's culture through committee involvement and other initiatives.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Good standing and eligible to practice law in the state of California.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and a solid academic background.
  • Knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive approach to client service.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a track record of meeting billable hours goals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to follow Firm best practices and procedures.
  • Personable and able to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and effective in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with iManage and/or OneDrive a plus.
