About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mayo Clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide nursing care to assigned patients, collect data through observation, and communicate information to assist in patient assessment and care planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies, and procedures of the organization.
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting the needs of the patient/family.
  • Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
  • One year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

License or Certification:

  • Current LPN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
