Job Summary:

Sovah Health – Martinsville is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team under the general guidance of physicians/providers. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while operating diagnostic imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and organize work area.
  • Keep accurate records, help with scheduling of the ultrasound, and keep patient flow smooth.
  • Assure appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology or Sonographic Technology required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • The American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registry (ARDMS) is required within one year of hire.

Work Environment:

The job may require 1 to 6 months of on-the-job training to develop expertise and familiarization with equipment.
