About the Role

The Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center Temple seeks a highly skilled Academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching, and research in the field of acute care surgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical responsibilities include evaluation of trauma and emergency general surgery consults, rounding for the STICU and Trauma Acute Care Surgery Services, and OR coverage for Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, and Elective General Surgery.
  • Academic responsibilities include resident and medical student lectures, mentorship, and research projects focused on acute care surgery.
  • Mission-focused initiatives include regional outreach, involvement in TQIP and NSQIP, and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree and fellowship training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, or Acute Care Surgery.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Surgery or Osteopathic Board Certification.
  • Texas Medical License and Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons when qualified.
  • Experience with surgical care of trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care patients.
