Group Exercise Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for leading and motivating participants in group exercise classes, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and instruct group exercise classes, including aerobic, toning, and yoga/pilates exercises.
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive class environment, promoting a sense of community among participants.
- Stay current in CPR/PR, AED, O2, and First Aid certifications, and maintain a high level of physical and mental fitness.
- Attend mandatory association Health and Fitness meetings and staff meetings as designated by your supervisor.
- Record class attendance and maintain accurate incident/accident reports.
- Assist with Y special events and maintain a good rapport with fitness program participants.
- Encourage member involvement and identify potential volunteers.
- Educate participants on proper form, contraindicated exercises, and modifications of moves.
- Report equipment in need of repair and develop positive relationships with members.
- Certification in CPR/PR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School education or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months or 60 hours of practical experience in group exercise class instruction.
- Ability to lift in excess of ten pounds.
- YMCA Healthy Lifestyles and YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise or National Certification.
This position requires a high level of physical and mental fitness, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
